Fundamental to the success of our community are respect and well-being; with friendly guidance the children are encouraged to make healthy choices and develop good manners, self-motivation, self-respect and consideration for others. They are expected to be kind and to look after one another and our ‘buddy’ system enhances this. As they progress, this sense of community is reinforced by a league system that inspires loyalty, leadership and teamwork for competitions and activities across the curriculum.
From the age of 8 many children choose to board, for them it’s all part of the adventure and we offer flexible boarding options in a nurturing family atmosphere to meet the varied demands of modern family life.
We are always delighted to see families at School events and through our policy of informal contact, parents are welcome to meet with the staff at any time. Regular communication with home is also sustained via parent/teacher meetings, workbooks, planners and reports.
With purpose-built classrooms and recreational areas, learning and play are appropriately separated and tailored to each stage of development. In line with our strong reputation for sport, the facilities at Felsted are outstanding; spacious playing fields, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, two Astroturf pitches, a large sports hall, three squash courts, six netball courts and 25 tennis courts. There are huge opportunities in the performing arts and in the theatre, practice rooms, auditoria and exhibition rooms, creativity and imagination flourish. The School also has a fully equipped Medical Centre. Throughout their time at Felsted, great emphasis is placed on looking after your child and in this nurturing environment the boys and girls thrive as strong foundations are laid for the future.
Felsted’s Circle of Learning creates individualised pathways for each Felstedian. Find out what this would mean for your child!
We offer carefully chosen pathways to each Felstedian. These pathways are grouped into the following core categories; social and personal development, academic development, physical development, creative development and global understanding. By exploring each of these, you will see how the different pathways develop through the school, from Reception through to the Sixth Form. They are part of Felsted ’s core Philosophy of Learning, and through the close partnership of parents, pupils and the School, pupils are able to follow individual pathways around their academic studies, based on their individual strengths and interests.
Felsted offers its pupils an excellent well-rounded education, offering real opportunities to develop, grow and learn in a safe and nurturing environment, as part of our local, national and international community. Pupils are provided with an expansive platform that allows them to explore opportunities, discover their strengths, and develop passions and interests that will make them unique and interesting individuals.
