‘Excellent’ in every aspect, say Inspectors
Felsted is proud to announce that the hard work of pupils, parents, teachers, Governors and indeed the wider School community has been acknowledged in a glowing 2013 Integrated Inspection Report, incorporating both Felsted’s academic offering and pastoral care.
Felsted has been judged to be ‘excellent’ in all fourteen areas of inspection, including academic achievement, teaching, governance, co-curriculum, attitudes to learning and quality of boarding. This is a judgement against an overall standard for independent schools and a statement of where Felsted stands in comparison to others.
Headmaster (at the time of Inspection) , Dr Michael Walker, comments; "As one of only a handful of schools with this rating in the country, Felsted can be considered a national leader in terms of its academic offering and pastoral care. Felsted is now rated 100% excellent across both the Preparatory School and Senior School and is committed to continuing its focus on excellent learning to ensure every pupil is challenged to achieve beyond expectation. This encouraging inspection comes at an exciting time for Felsted as we celebrate 450 years of education in 2014."
Felsted School currently cares for 530 boys and girls, aged 13 to 18, 85% of whom board for between three and seven nights per week. 20% of the school is truly international with boarders from many different countries. With eight Boarding Houses and two Day Houses, girls and boys can study and grow in a homely, comfortable and safe environment. ISI reports; ‘A meticulous system of care’ allows pupils to thrive within an environment where ‘the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils is excellent’.
