The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme is offered as an alternative to Advanced Level in the Sixth Form. This provides an opportunity to follow a highly regarded and widely recognised, pre-university course. Limited places are also available for a one year Pre-IB Programme.
The International Baccalaureate Organisation aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. IB programmes encourage students to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
The IB Diploma is a two year course which meets the needs of well motivated students with all-round capabilities. It offers academic rigour, genuine breadth and coherence, and aims to develop initiative and resourcefulness. We live in a world of global economies and communications and Felsted recognises that students will be part of this world and need the education that allows them to live and to succeed in it.
100% IB Pass Rate for Felsted - July 2017
Felsted is delighted to announce some really impressive IB results in 2017. This year Felsted once again achieved a 100% pass rate while maintaining our three year average of 34 points per candidate. This score is better than an average score of AAB at A Level and shows how well pupils have performed in these demanding examinations, based on an absolute world standard. In all subjects, over 86% of results were graded at 5 points or above (the maximum is 7) and 45% of all results were graded at 6 points or above (seen as the equivalent of an A grade at A Level).
